How do you make the panels for making the boulders?
Using many shells would increase chances of cracking would it not? So many joins

Hi, I am from South Africa. I have a rock pool, but it looks very artificial (not as beautiful and realistic as yours) and coloring not well. 2 questions: did you use water-based paint, and did you use any sealers? Does the paint not go off?
Use pigment mixed into your concrete and then add concrete stains for the detailing. Add a good Matt sealer that is chemical resistant and reapply every few years
Just use 100% acrilic latex paint..It works really well..sealer is optional. It does make it look as lot more artificial. You can water down this paint for a better texture. 4 parts water 1 Part paint. Sounds crazy but if works and gives a beautiful stain. Look up "kanelorocks" he's got a lot of information unfortunately his videos are in Spanish.

The illusion works best where there is one stone over two or two stones joined over one. In other words, no obvious vertical lines from top to bottom. Nice work and a great skill to teach to others!
